Rantings of... a... uh... person?

For the first time in six years (to the month actually), I have picked up my pencil and started to draw again. I stopped because I was starting to suck at it and was getting frustrated. I had hit my artistic peak (this was around the time I started to pick up on photoshop and place my artistic skill to that). Well, for some reason, it just hit me... I wanted to sketch... and amazingly, I did something I have never been able to do... a decent face. Matter of fact, I have never done a drawing that was ink worthy. Here is a highlight (using dad's scanner):



I did like four more and each one improving in some way. I have new inspiration.

lol, pilot A Little history on NEDM, It means "Not Even Doom Music". Someone on the internet posted a video of him setting a live cat on fire. Well, that person was caught and arrested for that and the video has pretty much disappeared from the net, just from the horrid nature of it. Well someone made a YTMND of the burning cap (showing a clip of it, but it was deleted) and someone voted it 5 stars because the YTMND was set to music from the game Doom. People said nothing justifies giving that YTMND 5 starts, not even Doom music. Now, you see alot of NEDM YTMNDs, which feature the same smiling cat with someone saying NEDM and playing the same music. It appears randomly in alot of YTMNDs and it is a very popular fad on YTMND that and has resulted in alot of good YTMNDs.

The size of our world

I am usually a person who can deal with important people dying in movies. Doesn't really bother me. Happy endings are boring. It's not terribly fun to *know* that the characters will come from the adventure all in one piece.

For some reason, I did not like the movie Serenity. At one point, I figured it was going to be one huge massacre, a manifestation of Joss' disgust at his awesome show being given the short end of the stick. Even though, most of them came out of it alive, for some reason, I am not comfortable with the way Wash died. Sure, I liked him, and that would be the majority of my displeasure, but for some reason, it was not a fitting way to go. I am not going to say that the movie was horrible for that fact alone, but I don't think it lived up to the show.

There has been many disasters in the world... cruelty to man or just natural disasters that happen. Sept. 11th, World War II, Holocaust, Vietnam, the Big Bopper and many other crisis that have occured in our history. I found one horrid thing, that I didn't know about and it ranks high on my list of horrible disasters: Firefly was only 13 episodes long and a new episode will never be made again. It's a damn shame. I demand blood.

You know, gorwing up, I loved Transformers in the way a kid did. Toys and action. I wish, I was a bit older at the time though to appreciate the story of Transformers. Before, I thought (and did for quite awhile) that alien robots crashed on earth millions of years ago and they woke up in modern day and could transform to disguise themselves and they battle each other. There is much more and it is quite a deeper story. As well as Japanese animation can provide (despite what people think, Transformers was Japanese and lived much longer in Japan then it did here).

I think it was like 4 million years ago, on Cybertron, the transformers revolted and took control of their planet from the Quintesons (the tentacle guys in the movie... they created the transformers, but more on them later). The transformers were happy for awhile, but a new faction from among the transformers appeared and they could fly. A robot named Orion Pax was fond of them and thought of them as visionaries and wanted to follow them. Until one day these "Decepticons" wanted Orion Pax to do something he didn't want to do (he was a dock worker) and he refused to do it and they nearly killed him. Slowly, there was a war brewing between the Decepticons and the Autobots. Orion Pax from that point was fighting against them and rose through the ranks of the Autobots and he became as we know him today, Optimus Prime. The Decepticon leader was Megatron.

This war went on for years, to about 9 million years in the future, a small little space craft was spotted near Cybertron, on it, there was a gold disc that showed a distant planet on it with it's location mapped out. It was the Golden Disk on the Voyager space craft. To the Transformers, they thought of this being a map to a type of "Holy Land" and held it in a near religious regard. At this point in the war, the Decepticons were nearly defeated, Megatron had been lost and the Great War was pretty much over. But, they found a hidden message on it, from Megatron, which was odd to them as he had been lost 9 million years ago.

9 million years ago, Optimus Prime went to look for a new source of Energon and found Earth, Megatron followed, in attempts to get the energy for himself and his troops instead. The rest is history. The ships crashed and they were basically stranded on Earth. Megatron was able to get a hidden message onto the Voyager Golden disk, giving the Decepticons the theory of time travel using their warp technology they used to travel through space (which to them was destroyed in their ships from the crash, bascially a rescue message in a time capsule). Telling them they need to come back to Earth at a particular date and that Earth was a MASSIVE source of Energon. This is how the Decepticons on Earth were able to get back to Cybertron and take over the planet (except for the two moons). Now that a way back to Cybertron was now open to the Transformers again, most of the battles took place outside of Earth and that is basically where the movie begins. That's why in the movie, you see Transformers that aren't exactly robots in diguise and turn into things that aren't earthly... they are the Cybertronian Auotbots and Decepticons.

Cybertron was actually home to the Quintesons, who built the transformers as slaves. There was a revolt and the Quintesons were banished from their own planet. In the movie, we see one who is handing out justice and feeding transformers to the sharkticons. They really didn't touch on this in the movie, but that planet the Dinobots, Hot Rod and Kup were on, played a bigger role later in the history of the show. That Quinteson was judging robots for the crime of treason and basically stealing Cybertron. Any race of robots in the galaxy, were spawns in one way or another of the Quintesons. They have a vendetta against any robot that is a spawn of their creations and basically want to perform genocide against them. Quintesons are so few now and pose no real threat to any of the transformers.

The Autobot Matrix of Leadership is a talismen that was given to Prime by Alpha Trion. Prime was the seventh holder of the Matrix. It is believed that the creator of all robotic life, this is a part of him (pre-dating the Quintesons, they are just creators of "Trans-Organics") and the holder made stronger, better faster and the power of the Matrix has been used to create transformers and it's true power is decided upon the matrix itself when it can be used. There isn't a clear history of the Matrix. Interesting none the less.

Okay, I know you hate Silent Hill.. and I agree, the last half of the movie wasn't that great. Since I have played the game since the first one, I was in glee at the beginning of the movie at the justice that was done to the first game. I will say that playing the game was scarier then the movie, then again, you control what is going on, that creates tension. Once again, sure the movie wasn't the best, but it did do justice to the sights and sounds of the game.
